Practicing law requires completion of an accredited law degree, admission to the applicable bar, and satisfaction of all professional licensing requirements.
Program Requirements
Review the basic requirements for the minor and the additional standards associated with the accelerated track.
- Meet Â鶹ÊÓƵ undergraduate admission requirements.
- Complete 18 credit hours of approved Pre-Law Minor coursework.
- Earn a minimum grade of C in each course counted toward the minor.
- Earn a minimum ACT score of 26 or SAT score of 1180.
- Maintain a minimum 3.25 cumulative undergraduate GPA.
- Complete at least three-fourths of the undergraduate degree, approximately 96 credit hours, before transitioning to law school.
- Earn a competitive LSAT score.
- Apply and receive admission to Mississippi College School of Law.
Coursework is primarily delivered in person on the Hattiesburg campus to support real-time debate, public speaking, and argumentation.
Select general education and elective courses may be available online or in a hybrid format through William Â鶹ÊÓƵ's flexible trimester schedule.
Standard Pre-Law Minor
The 18-credit-hour minor is completed alongside a traditional four-year undergraduate degree.
3+3 Accelerated Law Track
Qualified students complete three years of undergraduate study at Â鶹ÊÓƵ followed by three years at Mississippi College School of Law, allowing them to complete both a bachelor's degree and Juris Doctor in six years.
